I love strawberries. They're probably my favorite fruit, but I really love any and all berries. In March, my roommate & friends went to Froberg's Farm to pick some of these delectable treats. This was my first time picking anything in a field, and the farm definitely didn't let me down. The moment we walked onto the field we smelled the strawberries. Talk about delicious!
Needless to say, we brought home about 11 lbs of strawberries and prepared ourselves to be sick of them by the end of the week.
My roommate & I then started brainstorming ways that we could use the strawberries for every meal. Granted, it was much easier to cut them up and serve them on an hor d'oeuvres platter with some apples, honeycomb & camembert cheese (my favorite!).
In our first attempt for breakfast, Cathy (my wonderful roommate) made strawberry preserves.
mmm...strawberry goodness. This is also great to eat with cheese!
