inspiration: business cards

One of my many jobs at the moment involves being an assistant at Fig 2 Design Studio. My color connoisseur boss, Claudia, and I are working on a little personal project for me - business cards! For any of you who know me personally, it's no secret that I have a very wide range of things I enjoy and many little dreams in my pockets. There's no label or title that I fit under (ironic, since I am travel size - hah!), which makes it slightly more complicated coming up with design and text. Our gears started turning and with a little help from Pinterest we came up with some design ideas:

I'm going to do inkless letterpress (like the "anthropologie" text), white on white. We decided we like to keep it clean and classy, since I do organize and am definitely a minimalist.

inspiration board: burlap & twine

I'll admit that back in the day I was not a huge fan of the rustic look. I loved clean, modern lines (and still do), but over the past few years I've also developed a love for things wrapped in burlap and twine.

inspiration board: glass

Glass of any kind is such a versatile piece in decorating for weddings or in your home. It can definitely be a bit of a hassle to pack to keep everything safe, but I think it's well worth the trouble.

Mix clear bottles with milk glass vases for centerpieces or use apothecary jars for sweet snacks or coffee beans (as pictured). I love the hanging decanter lights, which give any event a very antique feel. Reused empty glass bottles not only save you money, but make for centerpieces that keep the eye interested and your wedding unique. Empty mason jars filled with water and a floating candle are great for a more rustic wedding, when you need just a little extra light on the tables. And, I stumbled upon this hanging wine bottle candle which would be great for a patio/deck wedding.

wedding inspirations in blush pink

A blushing bride can never go wrong with light hues of pink.
Think about using thick satin ribbon to hang lanterns with tea lights, or cascading various shades as a backdrop for your cake table. Use the same color ribbon (but a thinner variety) to tie table names to skeleton keys. They could take home the key as a favor, too!

I'm loving the fresh peonies on the cake, and those pink Chanel shoes would look stunning peeking out from under an organza ball gown. And, if you want to add a little bling bling to your wedding, use a brooch to fasten the ribbon together on your bouquet. It's a classy, but subtle way to keep your guests wondering -- real or fake?

Worthless fact: I also own a cardigan in this beautiful shade. (:
