a pop of {red}

these christian louboutin flats from style me pretty + anticipating taylor swift's red album got me thinking about the attention-getting hue today.  i'm not often big and bold with my fashion, but here are a few ways i would incorporate the color.  what's your fancy?
(one) grab a bright red parasol from penelope's parasols for a classy picnic or walk through the city
(two) nothing's classier than chanel – pick your shade of rouge allure and pucker up!
(three) i love this gray + red combo from design within reach via babble
(four) snag the post street little adair clutch from kate spade – the polka dot pattern liner adds a fun touch!
(five) make some personalized pencils for your desk at great little trading co.

Fashion: Dorothy circa 2012

J. Crew's new catalog hit the doorsteps last week and I have to congratulate myself for having the strength to stay away from it until after I got some good work done.  Needless to say, I swooned over the many things I could never buy and so I shall post them.  First up are these gorgeous new flats with a gold heel.  Dorothy's got nothing on these.  They come in black, dusty jade, neon persimmon (shown below), apricot mist, and metallic gold.  How classy and fun!

fashion: polka dots / confetti

Polka dots and confetti are such happy patterns.  I'm a pretty conservative dresser - and by that, I mean that I wear pretty neutral tones with pops of color now and then, and I stay away from most patterns.  But the polka dot - now there's an exception.  I love that it's such a versatile pattern - you can be elegant, fun, or funky with it.  So if you're looking to add a little somethin' somethin' to your wardrobe  (or maybe you're just a late night online shopper...like me), don't forget to dot your "i''s with a few of these.

Happy shopping!

Fashion: TOMS Flats & more

TOMS flats are here!  I have yet to actually try these on, but here are some of my picks:

{row 1} Burlap/Canvas Alessandra, $79 | Burlap Isabel, $79
{row 2} Natural Natalia Linen, $74 | Lina Woven Ballet Flat, $79

I love, love these Mint Metallic Linen Classics, $48.

A few other flats I'm loving from Anthropologie:

wedding inspirations in blush pink

A blushing bride can never go wrong with light hues of pink.
Think about using thick satin ribbon to hang lanterns with tea lights, or cascading various shades as a backdrop for your cake table. Use the same color ribbon (but a thinner variety) to tie table names to skeleton keys. They could take home the key as a favor, too!

I'm loving the fresh peonies on the cake, and those pink Chanel shoes would look stunning peeking out from under an organza ball gown. And, if you want to add a little bling bling to your wedding, use a brooch to fasten the ribbon together on your bouquet. It's a classy, but subtle way to keep your guests wondering -- real or fake?

Worthless fact: I also own a cardigan in this beautiful shade. (:

Question: What colors/themes would you like to see an inspiration board of?

fashion friday: toms shoes

the toms trend has been blowing up these past few years, and now they're out with a toms wedding line! personally, i want to wear some nice heels (i need the height), but these would be a great alternative for you taller brides.

but as for myself, i have my eye on a pair of toms wedges.
