p-p-p-party every day

Who doesn't love a good party? I believe there is always a reason to celebrate. In this case, it was to celebrate the end of a season. Cathy and I decided to throw an intimate party for our friend's band, Tim Be Told (check them out if you haven't!) as they closed their tour in Houston.

We made a map plotting the cities they had gone to & made labels for the food and beverages on chalkboard paper. You can find these 4x6" postcards at Paper Source (Cathy and I's frequented favorite store).

Eric graciously individually squeezed each lemon to make a delicious watermelon lemonade (smitten kitchen). So, enough of the prep pics -- here are some snaps from the party!

The main menu included honey barbecue ribs, oven-roasted asparagus, mixed salad, mashed potatoes, fried eggrolls, korean ribs, kim chi & seaweed.

For dessert, Caleb (our dear friend)'s favorite: Klondike bars & strawberry NY cheesecake from House of Pies.

Drinks included that delicious watermelon lemonade, strawberry banana smoothies & a variety of Izze drinks and root beer. I found these precious blue striped paper straws at a random store in Austin and thought they would be perfect for drinks. You can also get more varieties of them at Bake It Pretty.

Oh, and funfetti cupcakes! laid out on a map at each city they went to this leg of the tour.

They definitely traveled about 10,000+ miles, but assuming they never got lost and took the most "efficient" route...google maps told me 9,694 miles.

'Twas a great time welcoming back an old friend & making some new ones. Hooray for parties and reunions and friends that make life more enjoyable along the road. Yay or nay?
