Happy weekend, everyone! It's been quite the week for me so far, and a working weekend for me as well. This post will be mainly a smorgasbord of my random thoughts from the week - let's go!
one) I'm in serious need of getting my nails did. The winter weather has done them over, and they are starting to get brittle. Recently I've become a big fan of butter london nail lacquers. I used to never get my nails done, but it's definitely a treat I could get used to having more often. {pictured below: the full monty // yummy mummy}
two) The weather here is get fuh-reezing! We had our first snow! And I know it's just getting started.
Though I love cardigans, scarves and mittens/gloves have quickly become one of my best friends this season. Thank God for these Kate Spade lovelies!
I'm still on the hunt for a good pair of brown boots - ideas anyone? I have small feet (5/5.5) so sometimes it's hard to find shoes.
three) On my calendar for next weekend is my first snowboarding trip (going to White Tail)...eeks! I've only ever been skiing and I haven't skied in years. The majority of people I know love to go snowboarding, but I am nervous beyond belief. If you've got any tips, send them my way!
four) Restaurant Week DC is going on right now! I've actually never been to restaurant week, even in Texas so it's been a great first time. I went to Adour in the St. Regis hotel and ate (1) atlantic salmon gravlax & marinated seabass, belgium endive salad + carmelized walnuts (2) braised beef cheeks + gratinéed polenta (3) roasted pineapple & rice pudding + rum raisin ice cream. My favorite was definitely the appetizer (I love fish!). The beef was so tender, but I was not so impressed with the dessert.
Of course the girls and I had to take a peek around the gorgeous hotel. Overall, I think I was impressed more with the ambience than the food. Hopefully the next stop will definitely be worth noting -- Mie N Yu!
five) Oh, and one more thing. I know this video has been up on Facebook and all that, but I thought I'd post it here in case you haven't seen it:

I like your blog style Megan, it was a fun early morning read for me. Don't worry about snowboarding, you will have plenty of people to help you along the way. 1. Just keep calm, know that your shoulders are the steering wheel and your legs are the wheels 2. You will need speed to turn so don't go too slow as this will actually hinder you rather than help 3. Have your shoulders out in a straight line position just like your board and as you turn you will notice that your shoulders move along the same way as your board (hard to explain but I'm sure Peter can show you on the day of) 4. Don't be afraid to fall and have layers for padding (The eastcoast can get icy) Don't worry though, you will do just fine. It'll be fun!!!
