The Hunger Games

For the last time, it is not a game about being hungry.  I like this tweet posted by TexasHumor, "We've got Hunger Games in Texas. It's called fightin' to be at the front of the buffet line."  So what, I don't live in Texas anymore, but Texas lives in me - ha ha.  I know, I'm hilarious...

Anyway, I know The Hunger Games is all over everything, but I just have to say that this is one of those books you have to read - guy or girl.  It's a really good read (though I haven't finished all 3 books yet), and it's a great story about sacrifice, strategy and courage.  There's a lot of hype about this movie, and (perhaps unfortunately) my expectations keep getting higher every time I watch one of these videos.  I'm not going to add any of my own speculations about it, but if you don't know what it's about yet, I suggest you watch this trailer.
I don't think I've ever watched a midnight showing of a movie, but tomorrow I am.  Hopefully I'll prove that I'm not too old for staying up like that, but I'm excited!  If you're waiting in anticipation like me, this article from Vanity Fair goes into the details behind the movie, like Jennifer Lawrence's training to become Katniss Everdeen, money spent on the movie, and other fun facts.  The soundtrack also came out a few days ago (buy it on Amazon, it's cheaper than iTunes) with a great repertoire of artists from Taylor Swift and Arcade Fire to Kid Cudi and Maroon 5.  Even if you're not interested in the movie, maybe some of these tracks will.

Happy Hunger Games!

P.S.  Jennifer Lawrence is hilarious!
